«Modernization of an enterprise regarding fuel switching from fuel oil to natural gas at LTD PFC»

Pobuzhsky Ferronickel Works is the first enterprise in the former Soviet Union to produce ferronickel on an industrial scale from poor oxidized ores.

The main activity of LTD PFC is the provision of services for the processing of toll nickel raw materials, production of ferronickel, solid electric furnace and granular slag. Ferronickel is produced for the needs of Ukrainian and foreign companies.

The main goal of this project is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the transition from fuel oil to natural gas and modernization of the fuel system.

To implement this project, the company built a gas pipeline connected to the state gas pipeline system, which ensured the use of natural gas instead of fuel oil for combustion in the production of relevant products.

To increase the efficiency of natural gas use in the company’s tube furnaces, gas burners were replaced.
